Ahakista Community Association

Our aim is to provide and operate an activity & community centre for the benefits of the residents of Ahakista & environs.
Our main objective is to run an annual festival in Ahakista in order to raise funds to build the above.
Behind the scenes the Ahakista Community Association is a voluntary group of people who annually hold an AGM, elect officers and identify areas to work on for the year ahead.
It started in 1997 when a local group of volunteers reinstated the festival & regatta as a fundraising event. Over the years the festival went from strength to strength and became known all over Ireland and indeed the world as the place to be over the August Bank Holiday Weekend.
In 2004 a piece of land was gifted to the committee in order that a centre for the community could be built. Members of the old committee agreed to form a new company to oversee the entire project and thus Ahakista Community Association ltd. was formed.
The committee meet monthly & always welcome new members for further information or a date of a next meeting find us on Facebook or email sec@ahakista.org
