Ahakista Community Association
In 2004 a piece of land was gifted to the committee in order that a centre for the community could be built. The site for the centre is ideally placed overlooking Kitchen Cove in Dunmanus Bay, a truly beautiful spot right in the centre of the Sheep's Head Pennisula, which the committee are sure will make the visitor to our location want to linger and enjoy what we have to offer in the way of land and water-based activities when we are up-and-running.
The building committee are working very hard to realise the dream of an eco-friendly building that will serve both the local community and people from further afield in many different spheres.
In early 2011 the association launched a search for an architect to design the centre and all is progressing well so watch this space.
